WebDAV - About Site Names

Each Classes*v2 site has a “Site ID” which is a URL. To connect to a class site via WebDAV, you need to know the Site ID (URL). Each site must be set up as a separate WebDAV connection, so the first time you connect to a given site, you will need the URL for that particular class site.

To access the resources in a particular site through a WebDAV client, you will use a URL similar to the following:

https://classesv2.yale.edu/dav/mgt888_s08

In this case, the course being accessed is MGT 888, taught during the Spring 2008 (s08) semester. This format implies that the course is either being taught in a single section, or that this is Section 1 of MGT 888.

If you were seeking MGT 888, Section 2, being taught in Spring of 2008, you would use the URL:

https://classesv2.yale.edu/dav/mgt88802_s08

MBA-E courses all have a section number of E1, for example:

https://classesv2.yale.edu/dav/mgt888E1_s08

Class sessions taught in the Fall of 2007 will have URLs ending in _f07.

If the resources are located in an “umbrella” course site (where multiple sections of a course are combined in a single site), the URL is markedly different and does not follow such a standardized format. Umbrella sites all appear in Classesv2 with a section number of 00. Below is a listing of umbrella courses and their associated URLs:

If you need other site names (from the fall semester, for example) you must open up that class, click on Resources, then click the option to “Upload-Download Multiple Resources”. The site name will be displayed at that point. If you cannot do this, please contact Ruth Murray at the Help Desk for assistance.
