Setup Network Login & Password
Current members of the Yale communty are assigned a unique network identification (NetID), normally consisting of the person's initials followed by 2-3 digits (e.g., zzz234). A NetID is used to access many different computer resources at Yale University.
To begin accessing the Yale SOM network you will need to:
- Activate Your NetID with a PIN
This link will allow new users to activate their account and choose their password.
- Change your NetID Password
Allows a user with a valid password to change it simultaneously on all Yale computer services listed above. Users who have forgotten their current passwords must visit the Help Desk Office in room B-44.
- Synchronize Your Passwords
Allows users to specify a current valid password and have it propagated to the Yale computer services.
Click this link to set up your NetID: http://www.yale.edu/its/accounts/password_NetID.html
Note: When Dell/Lenovo ships the systems, by default all of them have a class of 2009 log-in created. The password is also common (contact helpdesk for this password). This can be used to initially configure the machine. The yale password will not work on the machines shipped from the factory.
