Connecting SOM Network Drives

The following steps require that your computer is connected to the Yale network directly or remotely by VPN.

To Connect to your student SOM X Drive

1) From the Apple menu bar select Go\Connect to Server...

2) Type the following into the Server Address:

smb://bass.som.yale.edu/[netid]$

Replace [netid] with your Yale NetID followed by the $

Click Connect

When prompted to authenticate, enter the following...

Workgroup or Domain: YALE

Name: Your Yale NetID

Password: Your Yale NetID password

To Connect to your student SOM S Drive

1) From the Apple menu bar select Go\Connect to Server...

2) Type the following into the Server Address:

smb://bass.som.yale.edu

Select the shared volume, example SOMPool

Click Connect

When prompted to authenticate, enter the following...

Workgroup or Domain: YALE

Name: Your Yale NetID

Password: Your Yale NetID password
